Putting on the Meta Quest 3

Adjustment options

The strap offers a variety of joints to comfortably fit on the user’s head. Additionally, the width of the strap can be easily adjusted to fit the head size using a simple dial at the back.

Step 1 – Lift the back

First, set the frame of the glasses to the maximum by turning the dial at the back of the strap to the left. Then, bend the back part of the strap upward through the joint that connects it to the front part.

Step 2 – Position the glasses at the front

Hold the front part of the glasses with one hand and the back part with the other. Now, bring the glasses toward the eye area. This becomes easier the further the back part is bent upwards, making it easier for glasses wearers to put the device on comfortably.

Step 3 – Adjust to fit the head

While the front part of the glasses is fixed in place over the eyes with one hand, the other hand pulls the back part of the glasses down to the back of the head. Then, turn the dial at the back to the right until the glasses fit comfortably without pressing too tightly or slipping.

The glasses can now be released, and the Mixed Reality adventure can begin!

Operating the Application

First start of the headset

Once the headset is turned on and put on, the user will see the displayed window. The library might be initially empty because the headset must be connected to Wi-Fi to automatically download the application.

Connect to Wi-Fi

A connection to Wi-Fi can be established via the marked icon, which is located on the left side of the bottom-right menu. The setup works like on conventional smartphones or laptops.

The application will guide you.

Scan the room & setup the guardian

Right next to the icon for the Wi-Fi connection is the icon for scanning the room and setting up the Guardian. The Guardian defines the area in which the user can move.

In order to correctly place the Mixed Reality scene, these steps must be completed. After clicking on the icon, the user will be guided through the setup step by step.

Our recommendation: When scanning the room, start by scanning the floor, then manually draw the walls and remove furniture/objects from the scan. The room should be as rectangular as possible. For the Guardian, we recommend the stationary boundary, as the application does not require movement.

Start the Crystalyx application

Once the app icon is visible, the application can be started. If the room scan and Guardian setup have not been completed yet, the user will be prompted to do so. Once everything is set up, the application will start normally with the language selection.

Have fun distributing Crystalyx!

Quick restart

Need to test the application repeatedly? No problem.

If the application is still running, simply take off the headset for 5 seconds and then put it back on—the application will restart from the beginning.

Reset / move field of view

If the field of view needs to be reset outside of the application, hold down the Meta button for 3 seconds. This button is located on the lower right area of the right controller.

Inside the application, the field of view can be adjusted by moving the right joystick.

Scan a new room

While the first room scan is done automatically, for every additional room (or location where the headset will be used), a new room must be added.

Edit ManageXR

To set up a new room, you need to exit the Crystalyx application interface. Select the marked icon in the bottom-right corner. In the next step, you will be prompted to enter the Admin Pin.

The Admin Pin is 5112.

After entering it, a window will appear where you can find the „Leave ManageXR“ button. Click it to return to the Meta Launcher.

Access quick settings

To reach the settings, first click on the clock in the bottom-left menu. The quick settings will now open above it.

Go to settings

In the top-right corner of the menu, you’ll see the small settings icon. Select this to access the room scan.

Select „Physical Space“

In the settings, there is a panel called „Physical Space.“ This needs to be selected to access the room scan.

Start space setup

In the left menu, at the very bottom, there is the option „Space setup“. Select this to manage created rooms on the right-hand side. There, in the top-right corner, you’ll find the „Set Up“ button, which starts the process for setting up a new room.

Our recommendation: First, scan the floor and manually draw the walls. Delete any objects/furniture that have been detected.

This will create a space where the Crystalyx application can function without limitations.

Reopen ManageXR

Once the room has been successfully added, you can reopen the ManageXR app. Simply click one of the two icons in the bottom-right of the bar.

Here, you can now start the Crystalyx app as usual.

Exhibition Kit

Battery packs

Each headset in the application package comes with one battery. This extends the continuous use of the headset by 1.5 hours. It can be easily attached to the back of the headset strap via a magnet.

Once the battery is attached, the black cable must be connected to the headset, and the button on the battery pressed to access power.

The batteries can be charged using the included USB-C cables.

Charging station

If the headsets are frequently in continuous use at trade shows or similar events, additional batteries and a charging station are recommended. 2-3 batteries can be easily placed on the charging station via their magnets and charged simultaneously. When a headset’s battery runs out, it can be quickly and easily swapped out.
